Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how Tapable ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Ramadani mobile application (the "App"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.

Ramadani is built with a local-first architecture. Your data lives on your device by default. We do not run analytics, serve ads, or track your behavior. The App is designed to work fully offline for its core features.

Information We Collect

1. Information you provide directly

When you sign up and use the App, we collect:

• Account information: You must create an account to use the App. You can sign in using Apple, Google, or Facebook. Through our authentication provider (Clerk), we receive your name and email address associated with the sign-in method you choose.
• Preferences: Prayer calculation method, madhab preference, language, and theme settings.
• Notification preferences: Whether you enable prayer notifications, which prayers you want to be notified for, and notification timing.
• Subscription data: If you subscribe to Ramadani Pro, we receive your subscription status (active, expired, or cancelled) through RevenueCat. We do not receive or store your payment details, credit card number, or billing address.

2. Information collected with your permission

• Location data: With your permission, we access your device's location to calculate accurate prayer times and determine Qibla direction. Your coordinates and city name are stored locally on your device only and are never transmitted to our servers.
• Motion & compass data: The App uses your device's magnetometer (compass) to display the Qibla direction. This data is processed in real time on your device and is not stored or transmitted.

3. Information stored locally on your device

The following data is stored only on your device and is not transmitted to our servers unless you explicitly opt into cloud backup:

• Tasbih (dhikr) counter sessions and history
• Favorite duaas and names of Allah
• Prayer log (whether you prayed and whether on time)
• Memorization progress for duaas and names of Allah
• Quran bookmarks and reading progress
• Daily duaa reading log
• Location coordinates and city name
• All app settings and preferences

How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for the following purposes:

• Service delivery: To calculate prayer times, display Qibla direction, and deliver the App's core features based on your location and preferences.
• Notifications: To send local prayer-time reminders on your device (no server-side push notifications).
• Authentication: To verify your identity and manage your account.
• Subscription management: To process and manage your Ramadani Pro subscription status.
• Cloud sync: To sync your data across devices, only if you explicitly opt into cloud backup.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services that may collect information:

• Clerk
  Purpose: User authentication (sign-in via Apple, Google, Facebook)
  Data shared: Name, email address, user identifier

  Purpose: Subscription and payment processing
  Data shared: User identifier, purchase information, subscription status

  Data shared: Payment information, purchase history (handled directly by Apple/Google)
• Expo
  Purpose: App infrastructure and over-the-air updates
  Data shared: No personal data is shared with Expo

Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We do not share your data with advertisers. We do not use any analytics or tracking services. Data is shared only in the following limited circumstances:

• With service providers (Clerk, RevenueCat) who assist in operating the App, under strict confidentiality agreements and only when you use their respective features.
• If required by law, regulation, or legal process.
• To protect the rights, safety, or property of Tapable, our users, or the public.

Data Retention

• Local data: Data stored on your device remains until you delete it within the App or uninstall the App.
• Account data: If you have an account and request deletion, we will remove your server-side data within 30 days.
• Subscription data: Subscription records are retained by RevenueCat according to their retention policies and as required by Apple/Google for transaction records.

Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information, including:

• Encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) for all data transmission.
• On-device SQLite database for local data storage.
• Secure keychain storage (Expo SecureStore) for sensitive credentials.
• Minimal server-side data — only user ID and subscription status if you opt into cloud backup.

However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:

• Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Deletion: Delete all your in-app data (prayer logs, tasbih sessions, favorites, memorization progress) directly from within the App, or request deletion of your account and all server-side data by contacting us.
• Portability: Request your data in a portable format.
• Withdraw consent: Revoke location or motion permissions at any time through your device settings.

Push Notifications

The App uses local push notifications to remind you of prayer times. These notifications are:

• Scheduled locally on your device — no data is sent to external servers.
• Based on your prayer calculation method, location, and notification preferences.
• Completely optional and can be configured or disabled per prayer in the App's settings or through your device settings.
• Not used to send marketing messages or advertisements.

Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected information from a child, please contact us immediately.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by:

• Posting the new Privacy Policy in the App and on our website.
• Updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.

Your continued use of the App after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
